Coaching Tools for Personal Trainers
TrainerReport gives trainers a complete digital toolkit — from building exercise libraries and workout templates to tracking client check-ins, nutrition, and long-term progress. Everything your clients need to succeed, organized in one place.
Your Complete Coaching Toolkit
Exercise Library (System + Custom)
Start with a built-in library of system exercises shared across all gyms, covering every major muscle group and equipment type. Then add your own custom exercises specific to your training style or facility. Search and filter by name, category, muscle group, or equipment — and use the exercise picker to quickly build workout templates from your full catalog.
Workout Templates & Assignments
Build multi-exercise workout templates with sets, reps, rest periods, and duration for each movement. Clone existing templates to create variations quickly. Assign templates to specific clients with a date range and notes, then track assignment status (active, paused, completed). Templates with active assignments are protected from accidental deletion.
Client Check-Ins
Clients submit regular check-ins with body measurements (weight, body fat, waist, hips, chest, arms, thighs), wellness ratings (energy, sleep quality, stress, mood on a 1-10 scale), progress photos, and notes. Trainers review each check-in and can flag concerns or mark them as reviewed. Photos are stored securely with signed URLs and support JPEG, PNG, and WebP formats.
Nutrition Plans & Food Diary
Trainers create nutrition plans with daily macro targets — calories, protein, carbs, and fat — tailored to each client's goals. Clients log food entries by meal type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack) with food name, quantity, and optional macro breakdowns. A daily summary view shows total intake versus plan targets with visual progress bars, making adherence easy to track.
Session Logging (Sets, Reps, Weight, RPE)
Clients log their workout sessions with detailed per-set data: reps completed, weight used, duration, and notes for each exercise. They also rate the overall session with an RPE (Rate of Perceived Exertion) score and session-level notes. All data is captured in a structured format that feeds into progress analytics, giving trainers visibility into exactly how each session went.
Progress Tracking & History
Every check-in, workout log, and food diary entry contributes to a client's progress history. Exercise progress charts show max weight and total reps per session over time. Check-in trends visualize weight, body fat, and wellness changes. Trainers use this data to adjust programming, identify plateaus, and celebrate client wins — all backed by real numbers, not guesswork.
